3 3/4 inch Throat 16 Gauge Knock-Down HM Frames, 90 Min Labeled
Commercial KD frames are among the most popular door frames used around the world. They can be used for a variety of wall construction materials (drywall, masonry, etc). Steel and wood doors can be installed into commercial HM steel frames. Our KD frames can meet a variety of applications, have various hardware preparations and can be painted to complement any decor. MDI knock-down frames are standard with a compression wall anchor, sometimes referred to as a "pressure-fit anchor" or a "tension screw anchor."

The 3 3/4 inch throat KD frame is typically used to wrap around an existing wall. Typicall wall construction is 2 x 3 Metal Stud (2 1/2 inch wide stud) with 5/8 inch sheet rock on each side.

| Strike Prep: |
Standard Strike Prep: (1) 4 7/8" ANSI Strike Prep is standard on all door frames by MDI.
Dead Lock Strike Prep (DLS Prep): is not standard and is optional. If you choose to add a DLS Prep to the frame it will be a: 1 1/8" wide x 2 3/4" high frame prep and it will be located 10" center-to-center above the standard strike prep. This prep is a modifcation to the standard door and once the DLS prep is done the door cannot be canceled, returned or exchanged.
